Energy Test System

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is not just another measurement technique for batteries. The unique measurement capabilities of frequency domain techniques are suitable for all parts of the batteryEnergy Test System  production cycle from basic R&D, to battery technology development and battery management.  EIS is showing features and benefits that surpass the information obtainable with traditional battery measurement techniques including determination of:
  • State of Charge (SoC)
  • State of Health (SoH)
  • Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR)
  • Fundamental ANODE/CATHODE studies and development of materials

Princeton Applied Research/Solartron Analytical and MACCOR have developed fully integrated CYCLER and IMPEDANCE measurements solutions allowing end user too quickly and easily transition from cycle testing to EIS analysis. Hardware and software integration of the MACCOR cycler and Princeton Applied Research/Solartron Analytical EIS analyzers can now fully characterize the cells without disconnecting the battery between tests. With an excellent low frequency response below 1Hz, charge transfer kinetics and SoC measurement on Li-ion cells are relatively easy.  Key highlights include:

  • 10µHz to 100kHz EIS measurements
  • Up to 192 Channels for cycler/EIS
  • Automated and Integrated test routines for seamless transition from Cycling to EIS
  • Export to third party EIS analysis packages such as ZView
  • A range of Princeton Applied Research/Solartron Analytical EIS analyzer solution to suit both budget and measurement needs
