IGAsorp-CT

 

Dynamic Vapor Sorption Analyzer for Climatic Testing

The IGAsorp-CT extends the isothermal operation range of the standard IGAsorp Dynamic Vapor Sorption Analyzer to 85 °C and was originally designed to perform the 85% RH/85 °C test used as a quality and reliability test in the electronic components and packaging industries, in accordance with the IEC 60749 and IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020C standards.


The system is a variant of the standard IGAsorp, which enables the study of the uptake and kinetics of moisture sorption at elevated temperatures more accurately and rapidly than other methods. Special attention has been paid to long-term operation and stability under the required climatic testing (CT) conditions, and analysis routines have been added to calculate the chemical diffusion coefficient as well as equilibrium solubility from the measured data.

  • Large capacity microbalance (5g) with a resolution of 0.1 μg and excellent long-term stability (± 1 μg)
  • High-resolution humidity control with a minimum step change of 0.2% RH
  • Isothermal temperature measurement and control range from 5 °C to 85 °C
  • Linear ramp temperature control for thermogravimetric studies up to 350 °C
  • User protection for sample loading at elevated temperatures
  • Fully automated system to perform isothermal, isochoric and temperature-programmed experiments

Product Applications

The IGAsorp-CT is used in applications where moisture sorption would otherwise be too slow to practically measure at lower, near ambient temperatures. The elevated temperature increases the sorption process kinetics without sacrificing experimental accuracy.
